Re: Longdog PSU with Lenco GL75
You do seem to be fixated with frequency, DQ. You appear to be overlooking Nick’s observation that his PSU is engineered to provide a low distortion sine wave, which he believes is the factor the has most influence to sonic performance. Been tying to keep out of this, but yes, the 50Hz does fluctuat...

Re: Linn Karousel
The whole Linn upgrade thing is a total con. Those that sign up for this upgrade are being fleeced. Just compare the cost of the original TT from say 40 years ago, calculate the over time inflation value and the price you arrive at is considerably less than the current marketing price. Linn have eng...

Re: What's in an enzyme.
Thank you guydarryl for your contribution which has brought interest to this thread and I’ve learnt quite a lot from you. My personal experience of enzyme cleaners is with L’art du Som. I found it basically ok using an Okki Nokki machine although in my view it did not give a complete clean. From wha...

There is nothing new or revolutionary about cartridge isolation shims. Just do a google to see what is available from plenty of other manufacturers. Funk are just joining in and benefitting from lucky publicity. Also, some are genuine isolators in that the cartridge mounting fixings are independent ...

Re: £500 Valve amps
Klipsch 's heritage range tend to be 100dB + so in your price range a WAD EL84 is probably the sweet spot and is probably in budget too. They come up periodically on the World Audio Forum or even Ebay. Indeed, Andy is right. The cheapest way to a quality EL84 amp is a buy of a second hand WAD Or WD...

Re: Brexit Deal - one of the easiest in human history?
For once, saying "I told you so," brings no satisfaction, or pleasure, because we're all in the sane shit because the ignorant masses would rather devour sound bites than actually think for themselves and develop personal fucking opinions based on readily available facts. That’s the probl...

Re: Vinyl LP cleaning services.
Thank you, Paul. I have amended my original post, however, based on my experience, I doubt DQ really has a comprehensive understanding of this topic.

Re: Vinyl LP cleaning services.
I've priced it up. £95 for 6litre machine and £70 for a vinyl lp turner that will do 4 at once. I share the ownership of an LP ultrasonic cleaner with two friends. We have found it is excellent at removing crud from deep within the record grooves but there are other considerations. You are left wit...
