Re: Dazed and Confused

Bi-amp is the way to go the A30 is really only a HF amp for bi-amp systems, the obvious one for the bass/mid is an A60. Its no good I can't help myself I am just going to have to ask what is probably a stupid question  If you bi-amp with amps of different power output with a passive pre-amp d...

Re: Your last listen

Nice one, they were very underrated. I seem to remember John Peel was a fan. I've got Curved Air - Live on at the moment. Ah, Curved Air - saw them live back in the day. Sonja Kristina was certainly a striking performer :). My favourites are the 2nd album and 'Air Cut', the one where Eddie Jobson j...

Re: Your last listen

Last night:

Pete Namlook - Air
Elbow - Asleep in the back
Curved Air - Second Album
Deep Purple - In Rock
Rammstein - Mutter

A noticable upward trend from ambient to grrrr.

Sound system volume vs distortion

I had pleasure to see Orbital at Brixton Acadamy last night and as is fitting for such a gig the volume was on eleven but combined with excellent clarity. Interestingly I am not suffering with the to be expected ringing in my ears. I have noticed this for quite a few gigs whereas when there has been...

Re: What makes for a good soundstage?

Having used M352s in the late 80s/early 90s with my now elderly AP20 I can understand what you would be missing, they had a really big sound. Neighbour threatening bass at the very least. I bought from new after an audition and upgraded the tweeters to metal dome. Unfortunately one of those got a st...

Re: Introduce Yourselves

Hi all, I have been reading the posts here with a great deal of interest so thought it was about time to say hi. I was really pleased to see that NVA were still in production. I bought a metal cased AP20 second hand along with a Systemdeck V back in the eighties both of which are working but only th...
