Re: The worth of a Prog Masterman

That's similar to what happened to me, Karnevil. He was in the audience with the Moog controller, everyone was patting him on the back. I was in an end of aisle seat. I stayed sitting and went to slap his back, as he walked forward , I miss-timed the action and ended up slapping his backside instead.

Re: The worth of a Prog Masterman

I don't class myself as a noob really. I loved those big bands. From the time I was thirteen, back in the mid-seventies. I've actually touched Keith Emerson's bottom! How prog is that?

Re: The worth of a Prog Masterman

There is a reason those top prog bands are called the big six. Very few of any of the others come close and most of the albums we have never heard of will be second rate garbage. If they had been any good we would know about them. Just my opinion of course.

Re: Listening position distance

Sometimes I wish I had a bigger sound, I was tempted by those Allison 3 corner loudspeakers but then I read a piece saying th...

Listening position distance

How far are your loudspeakers away from your listening position? My speakers are nearly six feet apart and I sit about seven feet away.

Re: Your last listen

Fretless,

The Peter Bardens solo album you posted looks a good album. Is it up there with Rain Dances and Breathless? They lost it for me after he left.

The Nice 1969 third album? Don't know if it can be counted because it's called Nice.

Re: Utterlessly Pointless discussion about Prog

I always considered, beyond the truly great prog acts, the big six and their spin off acts. Also Giant, Camel, Focus, UK, Renaissance, the big three Italian acts, and a handful of others, there really isn't anything of such a consistent high quality. I reckoned if I hadn't heard of the album by now,...

The last two both great albums.
