Re: NVA Passive preamp output voltage
Actually this application is a bit different. I have a spare P50 amplifier that is going to be used in an experiment with a Naim Nap160 - which has been modified slightly to accept a standard preamp via RCA’s. Back in the day the Nap160 was by far my favourite Naim amplifier and it would be nice to...

Re: NVA Passive preamp output voltage
I should have read your signature Audio note rate your speakers at 90dB so will be fine although manufacturers are known to tell porkies when it comes to specs.

Re: NVA Passive preamp output voltage
If I connected a source with a 2.1V output into an NVA P50 preamp with a 10k volume pot, what would be the resulting voltage output into the power amp? Also, would the output be ok into a power amp with a 20k input impedance- in terms of gain / volume etc? Thanks in advance The volume pot is merely...

Don't diss The Campbell :naughty:  This song kicks Sinatra's ass every time [bbvideo] https://youtu.be/FsokkO0o3bw [/bbvideo] When I was a teenager in ths 80's and driving tractors in the fields, my dad's John Deere 3040 (I loved that tractor) only had one cassette that was always in it and th...

Re: Tinker, Tailor, Streamer, Pi.
I understand what you are saying about dac's and pre's being separate, but my brother's Rossini, at least for me sounded better playing through his power amp, than going through his Audio Research Ref 5 pre, which costs close to £10K, so one big box was removed from the system I have tried to remov...

Re: Your last listen
I have had a most enjoyable George Benson evening. Yeah, nothing but George Benson. Read it and weep lesser mortals.

Re: Doc modding Marantz imperial 7
The 30cm plastic pig balls are unfortunately going to be unsuitable for my needs. Just too flexible around the cut outs. They are not going to be wasted however. I am going to use them as inner molds for casting hemispheres in concrete  As they are 30cm diameter then I will be able to produce...
Re: Sinatra
I have a huge amount of respect for Frank. His voice wax just amazing, like velvet and his timing was first class.
I can listen to him no problem if it happens to be on but I usiually just chose not to. The music does not grab me for some reason. It is very cool though

"I haven't decided if I should use a very stiff product to do this like car body filer or a more elastic product like blu tack. Many people dampen the back of the driver magnet and basket. " Although it may not count for much round here Russ Andrews recommends epoxy or body filler - both ...
