FWIW I am still in love with my Ares 2. I am sure there are better DACs available if you have thousands to play with but sub £1k I think it's as good as anyone could reasonably hope for.

I am having a bit of a George Benson love in right now, I know he has a reputation for sounding a "bit samey" but it's really well produced music with no crappy compression or other modern nonsense and my vinyl system is the best it's ever been so I am revisiting lots of good neglected mus...

Not exactly happy weekend music but it is an excellent album imo.

Richard Ashcroft might come across every now and then as being in love with himself but there's no denying the Verve have made some timeless classics and I have most of their catalogue

In no particular order via Tidal :- The Flaming Lips ` ~ Soft Bulletin (I struggled with this before jumping ship at half way mark) The Durutti Column ~ Obey the time Sade ~ Lovers Deluxe Autechre ~ Incunabula Looks like I'm not the only one revisiting "Obey the time" and appreciating it 👍

And one more before I call it a day - German duo Tok Tok Tok - some great sonically clean recordings - worth checking out their albums, "I wish" provides a good idea of what to expect.

I confess I have a bit of a thing for Leela James. She's such a talented singer with just enough worldly realism to make the difference to her delivery.
