Re: Taking the piss out of politics

I wonder how many women might be tempted to vote Labour because of this ? "Labour has promised compensation to more than three million women who lost out on years of state pension payments when their retirement age was raised, if it wins the general election. Shadow chancellor John McDonnell said th...

Even though "circumstances can change and wise people can re-evaluate their viewpoint."
Yes. 30 years is enough time to reflect. :)

Re: Taking the piss out of politics

1) So, at face value, the 1970s referendum on the same question is our answer and the 2016 referendum should not have happened? I've always thought that getting into "the common market" in Europe was a good idea, but being part of a "European state" is not what a lot of people wanted. Anyway, a lot...

Re: Taking the piss out of politics

Equally bad are those who make up their mind and never change it, circumstances can change and wise people can re-evaluate their viewpoint. So you agree that we should have a second referendum then? An interesting question. 1) A referendum (on a particular question) should be a once only occasion. ...

Re: Taking the piss out of politics

I listened to Matt Hancock, Conservstive Minister for health on the R4 Today programme, this morning. He criticised Jeremy Corbyn for 'not being able to make his mind up on Brexit'. Mr Hancock's record on Brexit is: 2016 pre referendum when David Cameron was PM Remain 2016 post referendum when Tere...

Re: Taking the piss out of politics

He has not denied the affair. The issue is sex for favours and him not declaring her an interest. I think she is quite calculating and saw him as a good way to promote her business, knowing what he is like in advance. So what you seem to be saying is that Boris is actually the "victim" ? I've read ...

Re: Taking the piss out of politics

Valvesrus Has Johnson denied the affair...? I don't know. If you made a list of MPs (male and female) from all parties (say for the last 25 years) who had shagged (or buggered) out of wedlock it would be (I estimate) quite a long list. Does being a "shagger" make an MP bad at his job ? I doubt it.

No, but this programme was well researched, based on facts
Did they tell you that on the programme ?
There was no shortage of footage of them together, very chummy, promoting her business venture. You need to see it.
I don't think so.
