Re: Dual mono or separate transformers for input- and outputstage?

Because we stand on the shoulders of giants. Understandable quote Dennis,BUT Is knowledge without understanding meaningless ? At one level, knowledge without understanding is by definition meaningless, in the sense that you have nothing more than a fact with no insight into its underlying significa...

Re: Dual mono or separate transformers for input- and outputstage?

That's what everybody deos. It's still only making amps. I have spent a long time making amps, since my first one in 2006. I like to try and make my amps different in some way, put my personal stamp on them if you like, but because there is very little (if any) that has not been done before (more s...

Re: Different t/t drive types - which is 'best'?

That Northern Ireland P3 deal would be one to treat with extreme caution. The seller has 0 feedback. We all have to start somewhere, but starting with a £7k TT does raise the scam suspicions a lot. I sent the seller an Ebay message yesterday :---- "Hi, I have a friend in your area, can I arrange fo...

It's sold on ebay. Front facia is silver aluminium, rest is black. Side panels are heatsinks
Perhaps you can post a link to the Ebay sellers page?

I checked the Douk Ebay shop and could not see it.

Re: My hifi is a disaster 1 problem at a time .

I've changed my mind. I will stick with acrylic despite the difficulties of making it true with one arm. Anybody want to buy 2 metal cases with heathsinks on either side. Ideal for mono blocks. Cost £130, your for £70. Got them from douk audio. Never used but look quality. Can you give dimensions o...

Re: Opinions on how the Government have handled the coronavirus outbreak

Sweden brought in restrictions sooner than the UK where mass gatherings, such as Cheltenham, were taking place in the Middle of March costing thousands of lives. Sweden's figures do not look so good when compared with countries who went into lock down before we did. Coronavirus: What's going wrong ...

Re: Opinions on how the Government have handled the coronavirus outbreak

If I've interpreted the new "guidelines" correctly, it's now OK to drive 100 miles to exercise, but you're not allowed to walk around the corner to visit your mum and dad. One could argue that being in a closed car alone, or with members of ones immediate family, is as safe as being cooped up at ho...

Being grown up is overrated in my (juvenile) opinion.

I'm sorry if "slimy turd" caused offence, but it seemed to me no worse than "fuckwit" which other posters have used to describe persons.

Whatever, I would not trust anything Gove has said, or will say.

Re: Opinions on how the Government have handled the coronavirus outbreak

When Michael Gove pulled out of Johnson's leadership team at the last minute, leaving the way clear for Theresa May to become PM, he said that Johnson lacked focus, clarity and thoroughness. Every government has probably got (at least) one slimy turd who makes the punters cringe, Michael Gove is on...
