Re: Coronavirus restrictions: are they legal
As I have said before, It's good to have the right to express ones views in earnest Lindsay, but those views are not (in the main) of any interest to me, so forgive me if I give them no credence.

Re: Uighurs 'treated worse than dogs' in Xinjiang camps.
When, precisely, are you expecting Johnson and his gang of money-grabbing double-dealing, unprincipled, unethical, criminal, amoral and immoral bastards to wag the UK's finger at China and tell it to stand on the international naughty step? I'm not expecting any UK government to do anything, I was ...

Uighurs 'treated worse than dogs' in Xinjiang camps.

Re: Coronavirus restrictions: are they legal
The BMJ explains “The trial is inconclusive rather than negative, and it points to a likely benefit of mask wearing to the wearer—it did not examine the wider potential benefit of reduced spread of infection to others—and this even in a population where mask wearing isn’t mandatory and prevalence o...

Re: Coronavirus restrictions: are they legal
Well, I dare say that there were policemen who misinterpreted the law before this pandemic, and it's likely that some policemen will misinterpret the law after the pandemic has passed. Perhaps fields next to busy roads or motorways are too polluted by traffic fumes to grow food crops ?

Farming electricity.
I went on a coach trip today into Norfolk, and on the way I noticed several fields full of solar panels.
Can someone (like Stu ?) let me know if farmers find this more profitable than growing crops, and if it is easy to get "permission" to do this.

Re: Using Power Amps without a Pre Amp
It seems my wording has confused, I meant that the gain stage was "extra ", ie had more gain, not that there was another separate gain stage.

Re: Using Power Amps without a Pre Amp
Geoff, in my experience active pre amps all take away something from the music, usually detail and emotion. Personally I can't live with that. They generally remove some of the music. Remember keep it simple stupid. Just remember that NVA power amps don't need an active pre amp because they have an...

I must dig out my CD rom based player, if I can remember where it is.
