Re: Richard Allan Drivers

All sold now. They all went rather sharpish. I'm sure I could have asked a lot more for them, but I'm happy just to have covered my purchase costs and selling fees.

Richard Allan Drivers

It is with some regret that I have decided to part with the Richard Allan drivers purchased from a fellow member many months ago. Space constraints and health related issues mean that the 'big bass box project' is unlikely to happen any time soon. My modified Allison Six speakers are doing enough of...

Re: THE AUDIO SHOW

Yes, good show overall. I concur with the G Point room observations. Unlike the Audio Nec people, they were prepared to play music that I liked.

Re: THE AUDIO SHOW

Hi Stu. Pretty good thanks. I've been heavily into photography mode for months and haven't even listened to the system in nearly six months! No doubt with the darker evenings now, thoughts may turn to music & hifi. In order to remain on topic, one of my main motivations for going to shows like these...

Re: Computer audio and my closed mind

Stu, I use DBpoweramp or EAC as others above have mentioned. The important thing is 'lossless'.

Wav rather than Flac?
Yes. They take up more space on disk and are less good with metadata but you eliminate the need for the additional processing needed for FLAC files.

Re: Computer audio and my closed mind

I still buy CDs. Then I rip them as WAV files & store on two hard drives. On the dedicated music laptop (about 14 years old) I have my full music collection (as well as on the external hdd). Playback is via an Audioquest Dragonfly Red. It sounds better than CD playback.
