Re: Doc modding Marantz imperial 7

Been thinking about the final build of these speakers. I thought about letting the mid driver share the enclosure with the bass (just for simplifying the construction as long as there is no detriment)but then remembered that there are 2 12 inchers in isobaric config. If the mid was sharing the volum...

Subwoofer in the sofa could be fun - especially with double kick-drums or reggae (feel da bass, maaan !)
Ha ha good one. Used to know a drummer who had a monitor built into his throne. Could definitely feel the bass

Re: DIY thoughts of the day

Re: PA speaker project

Do you expect pa speakers to be black so they disappear more easily ?

Re: PA speaker project

What sort of budget are you working to on this project? Hi Lyndsay, I want to spend as little as possible but if some one urged me to put a pair of mid drivers in i would stretch to that. Some things are cheap - eg blocking ports, spraying 15 inchers with plastidip, putting a better resistor and ca...

Re: PA speaker project

I disconnected the bullet tweeters in mine after they blew and did not replace them. Horn is good for 2-20khz but dont want to put too much low freq through it obviously. Big 15 incher is supposed to be good up to 3.5khz or there abouts. Most pa speakers i have come across have the whole of the bass...
