Re: Removed speaker internal foam
Also after removing the foam and listening i have experimented by taking the ferrite core inductor on the mid/bass out of circuit. This is easy for me to do as years ago I removed the xover from the cabs and put them right behind my amps. Well, I cannot say that it sounds brilliant without the induc...

Removed speaker internal foam
Hello, me again  Decided to take the internal foam out of my B&W P4 speakers. They are 2 way floorstanding transmission lines from 1996. The xover is one inductor in series with mid/bass (6.5" Kevlar) and 3rd order electrical high pass filter on the tweeter (25mm metal dome). The foam...

Re: Ultimate stands for doc modded speakers ?
I think these Kendrick casters will look very 1970's just like the speakers. 75mm when fitted, I will have to make something 125mm tall for them to attach to and to take the height up to the 200mm I need.

Re: Doc modding Marantz imperial 7
Found an old cast iron man hole cover I forgot I had lying around. It looks perfect to cut up and put on the bottom panel of my cabs. May need some bumps grinding off one side but should be a winner. It will also help lower the cabs centre of gravity - little people will have problems trying to knoc...

Re: Ultimate stands for doc modded speakers ?
These speakers are going to weigh an absolute ton In light of this I was thinking of putting them on castors but not sure about that yet.
Interesting ideas thanks.

Ultimate stands for doc modded speakers ?
Whilst I await the arrival of my doped drivers from Doc my thoughts have turned to the making of some small stands. The Marantz imperial cabs I am using are 65 x 36 x 30cm. The 12" bass driver is right at the bottom of the baffle and the tweeter will be near the top (obviously). I need to get t...

Thanks for all the offers.
It would seem Terry is the nearest to me and he has kindly agreed to me visiting him. Don't know when it will be though.

Re: Martial arts
In the modern world we drown in it - DQ calls it new speak. Sadly I now make a presumption everything is bullshit until I know it isn't. I am increasingly coming to that conclusion too. Wish it had happened quicker. One thing (of many) that i cannot bare is to be in the position of having to buy a ...
