Re: Speaker mods and tweaking - anyone fancy a challenge ?
Just looked at them , 2 way infinite baffle speakers , They look just the job for doc mods. I was sort of hoping that might be on offer (!) ..... but I don't know what these mods are and the cost of them but I am a bit of a convert to NVA and v open to Doc's ideas ---- so I'd be VERY interested to ...

Re: Purpose built Chinese DAC
The TDA 1547 is based on the much desired TDA 1541a chip The 1547 is a 1 bit dac, the 1541 is a r2r ladder, very different things. Not saying it will sound bad, but to say one is based on the other is a bit of a stretch. Thanks -- I didn't know that (obv) --- just quoting others, this digital arena...

Speaker mods and tweaking - anyone fancy a challenge ?
I have picked up an old pair of KEF Reference 103 speakers in decent condition for the princely sum of £100. I have just linked them upto my P2/A2 ( fed with Innuos Zen FLAC via ifi DAC) and they sound pretty darn good. That said they don't unsurprisingly match my Kudos Cardea C2's for performance b...

Purpose built Chinese DAC
Somewhere on the forum ( I've lost the original piece ) there were discussions re the quality of some Chinese audio companies and how it would seem foolish to put them all in the same 'inferior cheap labour cheap parts = rubbish' bracket ..... rather to be a bit more open minded about the possibilit...

Re: Some SERIOUS advice please!
as someone new to NVA in reply to original question --- I would heartily recommend buying the £300 (!!!!) P2/A2 package ..... if this doenst convince you that there is something going on here then I'd be amazed ..... I must admit several years ago I bought into the whole NAIM & LINN story (becau...

Re: Metrum
I had the original 2 box Metrum Octave as I personally also prefer the NOS approach as a rule ---- it was very musical, and I'd be happy to buy another one if funds were available --- I'm going to risk ridicule and/or abuse but the SW1X for me did outperform it ( although personally I'd not pay £1k ...

Re: God help America
I'm a big fan of Adam Curtis documentaries ---- I believe the 'Power of Nightmares' basically nailed it ..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTg4qnyUGxg and his latest films available on iPlayer build on it ...... America is indeed a very foreign land - invest in property in Canada !

Re: Introduce Yourselves
Hello I'm Chris and obviously new to the site ---- I was recommended to give NVA gear a try by Dave (DSJR) and so I have dipped the proverbial toe in --- and the timing couldn't have been better because finances are rather more stretched than I'd like right now .... so a P20/A20 package was ordered...
