Re: Ohno cable

Given that copper is generally turned into wire by drawing it through a die I would have thought that a single crystal copper billet would make a very long single crystal wire quite cheaply, at least the act or drawing the wire would be no more expensive than "ordinary" copper. I am also a...

Re: Ohno cable

Interesting concept, sounds similar to the Rolls Royce single crystal turbine blade process (from what little I know of that). I look forward to hearing what you think of the end result.

Bob Jones? The same Thought it rung bells. I only know/knew the name not the man by reputation, which is stellar. He as a really nice guy. I met him after he had retired; he always joked that my equalisation didn't suite his ears, followed by an admission that nobody would like the settings he woul...

Re: My 'nearly' new PT Too

Roy Gandy [ mr rega ] has written at length that VTA in his opinion is unimportant . That may explain this "Tonerms are best tuned in by ear- if the tonal balance is bright and bass light them lower the base of the arm. If the balance is dull in the trable then raise the base of the arm."...

Re: My 'nearly' new PT Too

A manual will not tell you how to fit it to a PT . No it won't specifically but it will contain the set-up information and how to adjust the Vertical Tracking Angle which in question here. I haven't had any dealings with the Rega arm but the SME instructions are very good in respect of installation...

Re: My 'nearly' new PT Too

Rather than speculate on how to set-up the arm, try downloading the manual Rega RB250 Manual. You will need to register but it is free.

Re: Linn Lies

So, never having even considered a Linn, do they acknowledge the inherent dynamic range compression of commercial LPs (to keep the stylus in the grove). I know that they don't offer a radio tuner, have they ever done so? As a Tape and Radio user I would probably be marched smartly out of any Linn s...
