You and me must have a beer one day. I have tried to get his misunderstanding of how he can seem on forums under con...

Re: Why Has ProAc Faded as a Brand?
Exactly And if you have to do it and are dictated to by bean counters and the professional :Bllocks: merchants you are on a hiding to nothing, but you have a job. Yep, there is a bit more to it than that, but I agree semi-pro is close enough. When I was just doing audio electronics as a hobby, it q...

Re: Are there any specifications that describe good music
I think my original point has been missed "we can't rely on a single individual to determine whether reproduced music sounds as it should". We have to have a consensus. So the discussion has taken us around to agreeing on what I said in the first place. I can compare two resistors using a...

Re: Is Prog a bunch of self indulgent nonsense
Its not just prog that can be guilty of self indulgence. Guitarist (in several genres) in particular are prone (IMHO) to cross the line between music and indulgence. But its very subjective, I know a lot of the music I listen to could be accused.

Re: Are there any specifications that describe good music
I would suggest turning it around, and defining a good hifi system as one that allows the greatest range of music to be enjoyed. I know of several recordings that when played on a good system are hugely enjoyable, but on the wrong system seem to be noise.

If the optical is still working, then its probably the driver that’s failed. Should be easy to repair.George Hincapie wrote:Digital Coax connection has gone on my CD63. I am now having to use optical. So sad
It's done well though, bought it 25 years ago. Doesn't owe me anything.
