Re: NVA Update

NVA’s route to market in recent years under RD is a sustainable approach methinks. The problem is that NVA was Richard Dunn. There are distinct similarities to the situation when Joe Ackroyd retired and then passed away shortly afterwards. I know of a number of people that tried to buy and keep Royd...

Re: Richard Dunn

Met Richard a few times. I recall having interesting conversations about his love of Italy and many other topics. Extremely knowledgeable and his business model was to be commended. His products are a delight to listen to as well and I shall miss reading his posts. RIP.

Re: Speakers

Btw, I should have added that I really like the concept of “The Cubes” and tried a pair at home. They have many good qualities but the experience reinforced my view that you really do need to try all speakers in your own listening room - the overall result cannot be predictable based on anything els...

Re: Speakers

I do like Shahinians but expensive now in the UK

I also like the speed and openness of Audio Note loudspeakers but I believe they are largely based on Snell designs

Once I get back to full power, I fancy Campagna or perhaps going back to Crete again which is friendly and good value.

Re: Audio Addicts (ex The Audio Forum)

Hmm, well all you have said is you listened to second rate direct drive decks at a second rate supplier. Lasky’s et al were hardly cutting edge and didn’t stock cutting edge kit. The flawed Pink with an SME may well have floated your boat, but your opinion is an individual one. I think (individuall...

Re: Audio Addicts (ex The Audio Forum)

Not sure anyone's interested, but I'll see what I can do shortly. My post above was a reply here to a comment Savvy made regarding hearing a 3 and then a 6 and as, to me, the 6 is 'better' in the ways I judge how musical an NVA amp sounds to me over much of the competition. Yeah, I heard the 3 and ...

Re: Why is music so important for us.

Music is the sound track of your life. Most people recall the first record they bought, music they danced to as a kid or at their wedding etc. Music also helps you through tough times ......and happy moments

Re: Hi-Fi Honesty

I think Linn were very concerned about the superiority of the Pink Triangle in particular. I have read reports of Ivor's storm troopers sabotaging the PT in dealers show rooms and saying purchasers were at risk of catching Aids. Unfortunately a lot of that went on, aided and abetted by a number of ...
