Re: Pretty pissed about this really....
I had a similar problem which meant that I sold all of my Teddy Pardo kit and moved to NVA as I needed a balance control. I now wear hearing aids and it’s been something of a revelation. Once I get the volume right on my amp, the cube 3s are stunning. To keep the post honest, I’m looking to move hou...

Re: Speakers again
As a Cube 3 owner, I would certainly recommend trying to track down a second hand pair or waiting to hear what the forthcoming Cubes sound like. The Cubes have a different presentation to “traditional speakers”. If you love pinpoint holographic imaging then they will disappoint. If you like a realis...

Re: Japanese Direct Drive Appreciation
The Doc steered me in the direction of the PIoneer PL71. I currently own 2 of them and they are very nice indeed. There are some good belt drives out there (I like the ceramic platter Regas) but the PL71 just sounds so right.
Re: Obits
Sad news about Burke. I always had a soft spot for Budgie. Heavy and melodic (sometimes in the same song). R.I.P.

Re: NVA and Others For Sale
I’m drifting on my own thread now but did anybody notice that a P20/A20 sold on ebay for £540 recently and no mention of interconnects in the sale.
If I recall correctly, the Doc was selling these pre/power with some sound cord and a starter speaker cable for £299.

Keith, I have a purchaser for the phono plus both PSUs.
Is there any interest from anybody for the pioneers or the Marantz ?

Re: Having a good clear out
Stu,
Don’t forget to separate the scrap. Ally is worth a lot more than steel etc. A scrap dealer will only be too happy to give you a scrap steel price for any ally or bronze you have.

Re: Having a good clear out
Everything I own (with the exception of the hifi, records, computer and 2 guitars) is in 2 wardrobes and a bedside cabinet. I have never seen the point in hoarding.
If I need it, I buy it. If it’s not been used for a while it gets binned.
If only Mrs S had the same attitude…..

Re: Linn Karousel
This constant “our upgrade makes it the best ever” implies that they didn’t do a good job in the first place. If we believe this then hifi from years ago must be very poor.
Listen to something “old” and then wonder why it isn’t crap.
