Re: NVA Reviews (THIS THREAD IS ONLY FOR STASHING REVIEWS)

Phono 2 plus BBPSU So farewell 2 x psu for the phono 2 and hello BBPSU. The new power supply is typical NVA. A black box the same dimensions as a BMU with a mains lead and a couple of leads to connect to the phono 2. Not even a light to tell you it’s on and no on/off switch. Pure simplicity. After t...

Re: What part of your system is weakest.

Probably the interconnects. As much as I want a TCS, I would probably be better off investing in some TIS to connect both the phono 2 and my dac to the P90SA.

Re: NVA phono 2 v 3 questions & Transformer question.

Just add to my earlier post. I did have the phono 2 head unit on the sideboard and the 2 psus and a Teddy Pardo amp in a rack. The turntable was on the top of the rack. Keeping the head unit in the rack was a no-no due to a lot of humming which is how it ended up on the sideboard. When the Teddys we...

Re: NVA phono 2 v 3 questions & Transformer question.

I think I am right in saying that the 3 has bigger power supplies and there are a few changes to the head unit. With respect to the humming this is not a major surprise. I had exactly the same problem when I purchased a phono 2. The solution is to keep the head unit as far away as possible from any ...

Re: A common Theme on Swirly covers

Speaking of Colosseum 'Valentyne Suite', the one I just scored today is first press! (Easy to tell - first press Vertigo's say "A Phillips Record Product" on bottom of side B label.) Somewhere I read that only 89 of these were made for this particular title. I can't believe this. I got one for pean...

Too bad Dark Round The Edges isn't a vertigo. But ,then again ,it would not be worth more than your house.
It’s the perfect album on the perfect label and Steve Giles is a top bloke. It just doesn’t get better than a first press DRTE. Just a pity I only have some reissues.
