Re: NVA Reviews (THIS THREAD IS ONLY FOR STASHING REVIEWS)

TIS Been using a 1m pair of TIS for a few months now. I wanted to try the top interconnect and have now come to some conclusions about its performance. The cable is providing the signal to a P90SA and second statement amp. Sources are PL71/Denon 103/NVA phono 2 with a single BBPSU for records and a ...

Re: advice on change

I would advise you to consider the NVA “starter system” A20/P20 and a pair of cubettes. I only have heard the A20 and it is a superb power amp and just staggeringly good value. I ran it with a P90SA into a pair of cube 3s and could easily have lived with it on a permanent basis. You will need a phon...

Re: HiFi Foo Fight

Very, very good. Perhaps the foo fight could arrange some more “in depth interviews” with the leading lights of the industry..........

Re: Cartridge for PL71

Stick with the Argo and see how you get on with it. I had the pleasure of buying the Docs PL71 with a Denon 103. It’s a very nice combo. I keep wondering if I should “improve” the cartridge and wonder if it’s possible without spending a silly amount of money. My guess is that just about any cartridg...

If the seller can get that lot shipped for £9.99 then I’d like to know who he is using. Try lifting a TSS.....

Re: BMU noise

I also purchased one and it has reduced the “noise on my mains”. I would certainly recommend the blocker. Delivery from Bulgaria was about a week.

Re: Cock up's

Started carving the neck profile today and much to my surprise the back of the neck looks and feels like the back of a guitar neck. Perhaps I should start a thread on unexpected successes. I could call it cock unders

Re: Cock up's

Currently building my first electric guitar. The idea is that you start with a few pieces of wood and some glue. Stick some of the pieces of wood together and then remove the bits of wood you don’t need until you have a guitar. It looks like a telecaster body but it certainly has some dings. Startin...

I have to give Missi some credit for bringing Motherlight to our attention. It’s a wonderful album and well worth a listen.

Re: Speaker cabinets - spikes v feet

I have thought about this in the past. As a former bass player, my attitude was always “stack the speakers, plug in the amp and get playing”. When it came to hifi, I was as anal as anybody else about spikes and rigidity. Now I have cube 3s on stands that move a little bit and I couldn’t care less. T...
