Re: Cock up's

Started carving the neck profile today and much to my surprise the back of the neck looks and feels like the back of a guitar neck. Perhaps I should start a thread on unexpected successes. I could call it cock unders

Re: Cock up's

Currently building my first electric guitar. The idea is that you start with a few pieces of wood and some glue. Stick some of the pieces of wood together and then remove the bits of wood you don’t need until you have a guitar. It looks like a telecaster body but it certainly has some dings. Startin...

Re: Cock-ups on the record jacket printing front

I have to give Missi some credit for bringing Motherlight to our attention. It’s a wonderful album and well worth a listen.

Re: Speaker cabinets - spikes v feet

I have thought about this in the past. As a former bass player, my attitude was always “stack the speakers, plug in the amp and get playing”. When it came to hifi, I was as anal as anybody else about spikes and rigidity. Now I have cube 3s on stands that move a little bit and I couldn’t care less. T...

Re: Help me with amp and cable upgrade decisions!

A difficult choice ! I heard a statement pre and a A20 into a pair of cube 1s at NVA headquarters and it was very nice indeed. My advice is to go a bit flat earth on this and buy the best pre you can afford. Next are the interconnects and speaker cable followed by the power amp. I had a loan of a A2...

Re: Is it uncool to like.....

I owe my love of music to my Mum. She always had the radio or the record player going when I was a kid. My interest in hifi comes from her father.

Nothing wrong with a bit of SB. If you like it, it’s good. Thanks to Mum I’m a bit of a Dusty Springfield fan.

Re: Forums and NVA

What I should have said earlier is that the forum didn’t have an impact on my decision to try the phono 1. The 30 day home demo was a total no-brainer. I wonder why so few manufacturers offer this. Is it because they might not be 100% confident in their products ?

Re: Forums and NVA

I’ll break the ice on Karatestu’s post. I had a Rega P9 with a Rega phono into a Teddy Pardo pre/power. Thought I would try a NVA phono 1 on the basis of return if not satisfied. Currently running one of 2 Pioneer PL71s into a phono 2 with a BBPSU then a PSA90 and the stereo statement amp into a pai...

Re: NVA Reviews (THIS THREAD IS ONLY FOR STASHING REVIEWS)

Phono 2 plus BBPSU So farewell 2 x psu for the phono 2 and hello BBPSU. The new power supply is typical NVA. A black box the same dimensions as a BMU with a mains lead and a couple of leads to connect to the phono 2. Not even a light to tell you it’s on and no on/off switch. Pure simplicity. After t...
