Re: Loan Service

Nice idea Doc. I have been thinking about new speakers and possibly cables for a long time but have been reticent to make a purchase on the grounds that the new might not be better than the old. I can see this leading to a lot of people borrowing and ultimately buying kit. Cube 3 could be just what ...

Re: Traded in Phono1 mm

Alfi, you are now at the top of a slippery (but very enjoyable) slope. I started with a rega fono, deceided to try a phono 1 and have now upgraded to a phono 2. The allure of the second power supply is hard to resist and then there's the TAS...... Don't say you weren't warned

Re: Halloween - what is this nonsense

Most people forget the significance of 1st November which is All Saints Day. Everybody had an opportunity to atone for the night before. This tends not to happen now so Halloween is becoming increasingly unhealthy. How long before we see the first zombie murder on the 31st ?

Re: Should Britain remain in Europe. ?

It's time to leave. The argument about losing trade is poor. The STG/EUR exchange rate is a major factor in the price of goods and services. If you are in Spain and want to by some bricks and the UK supplier is cheaper than the German one then who gets the business ? There is little chance of trade ...

Re: New production TT from Technics

Perhaps the heat generated by the motor is dissapated through the top plate thus keeping the burgers warm. A potential win-win situation. But where do you put the arm ?

Re: NVA Phono 2

I used Naim for a very long time and never had the problem in the same way as I did with the phono 2. Having made the comment I also have to say that there are now manufacturers whose products I prefer to the Salisbury stuff, Docs being one of them. It's a small sacrifice to isolate the head and the...

Re: NVA Phono 2

I said earlier in this thread that my phono 2 was not performing as well as I was expecting. I knew that the head unit was susceptible to magnetic fields so moved the ps unit away from the stack thinking that this would solve the problem. Wrong. I spoke to the Doc about this and he suggested moving ...

Re: Powered Cube to Cubix (P7) to Cubix Pro (P11)

Another visit to NVA Towers as the Doc very kindly allowed me to have a listen to the "full-fat" 3-layer cubix pros. Sources were his Sony 777 cd player and a computer attached to his Sony dac via some sort of converter. So, what does the extra money buy when you add the additional layers ...

Re: Home made cubes

Joe, you have to come clean about the salesman. I used to spend a lot of time there in the 80's. I can imagine that some of the chaps would have loved a bit of Iggy & Co.
