Yeah, those were all Robin Marshall efforts I think which culminated with the "classic" & "Pearl" series which are all a bit poor. I dislike those German [MB Quart] metal dome tweeters he used in every single design ! Best speaker he ever made was the MA R352. All IMO/IME or ...

They just sound better IMO. 19mm voice coil which is quite small for a bass driver [same as Royd/Rega] and first order crossover makes for an interesting listen. Laters models that involved Robin Marshall have their own strengths but I'm not a fan.

These were absolute shite when new and totally outclassed in colouration terms by the UK made biggies that could still be got back then. I did hear them to get this view, by the way!
