Re: Understanding cubettes
Are the cable connections on the back or side face of the curettes, just thinking if they can be placed right up against the wall if this gives the best sound in kitchen?

Re: Understanding cubetts
Would Cubetts, or something higher up in the range, be the perfect speakers to use on a kitchen worktop for a simple kitchen system? Or, given that the worktop will be about 900mm high, would I need to add a shelf for them higher up on the wall? Need to work best for listening to the radio when stan...

Re: Transformer Hum
Nick I sold you something last summer that I thought might make be great improvement, but it was too big and heavy for me and I had no room for it. It seems it is still at MCRU. That would be worth experimenting with. Hello Doc Was that the large isolation transformer that you posted about some tim...

Re: BS546 unswitched sockets - recommendations?
Thanks for the feedback. I was not aware that connecting a Faraday Cage to earth stopped it acting as a Faraday Cage (I do understand that it does not need to be connected to earth to act as a Faraday Cage), however I did ask the question to be sure that you meant it to be left floating as I guessed...

Re: BS546 unswitched sockets - recommendations?
Would you connect the armour or leave it floating, with just the 'earth' core connected at the Consumer Unit and the BS546 socket?
Thanks. Bill

Re: BS546 unswitched sockets - now moving on to Radial Cable recommendations
I've managed to get hold of a couple of fairly old (1970's or earlier) unused MK unswitched BS546 sockets (they look to be better quality than modern ones made at lower cost) - they even have shuttered Live and Neutral so should also be legal! I'm now thinking about the most suitable type of cable t...

BS546 unswitched sockets - recommendations?
I'm finally making changes in the house and will be fitting a couple of radial circuits back to the incoming electrical supply Henley Blocks (with relevant safety bits and pieces). Planning on using unswitched BS546 sockets at the equipment ends - any recommendations on the best quality sockets to u...

Re: Isolation transformer
I understand that recording studios often use an isolation transformer for the main feed, and also make use of balanced transformer(s) in some situations. Are Faraday shields normally included in balanced transformer designs?
