Re: Bi-wire options

When helping a mate bi-amp his 3-way speakers (NVA A60s with LS5 and LS1) I was surprised to find that the speakers were designed to have one amp driving the tweeter and one amp driving the mid range and woofer. I assumed that splitting the load of the two main drivers would make more sense, but I'm...

Re: What's been your favourite bit of NVA kit?

Probably the first bit I got. An old AP30 with built in phono stage. It transformed by record player and my speakers and made me realise how important amps were. After that, it's been a journey of finding the best kit to work with NVA amplification.

Re: P50 Stepped attenuators

I've got an AP80 with a stepped attenuator, so it is possible. It is a very full box though it may or may not fit depending on the specific switch and the exact layout of the power supply.

Re: Which Cubes

My ceiling height is 3m, is that considered high? Width is about 4m, and listening position about 4m from the back wall. Another 5m or 6m of space behind the listening position. I assume that the Cube 1 would be more suitable to the room volume.

My condolences and best wishes to Nadia.

I only spoke to Richard a few times and met him once. He came across as funny, warm, and passionate about his products.

Re: BMU con fused?

All a fuse does is protect the cable to the wall. It means you can save money by using thin cables for lamps etc and put in a 3amp fuse to protect them.
I live in a country without any fuses, every plug socket is on a 10amp MCB and all cables have to capable of 10amp.

Re: Julian Richer hands over control to his staff

Agreed about the business model. Amazing that the HiFi / electronics industry is still based on new models every year regardless of improvements.

Re: Julian Richer hands over control to his staff

I got my first proper speakers from Richer Sounds about 20 years ago. Mordant Short MS20i. They lasted me quite a long time, and sounded pretty good when I hooked them up to a NVA amp years later. Other highlights were a Minidisc deck(!), and my now 19 year old headphones. Sennheiser HD600, which we...

Re: NVA arm lead

Looking forward to it!

At the moment I’m using a sound cord that I bodged one of those DIN connectors onto, but it would be good to upgrade the cable and the construction!

P50sa initial impressions and questions...

Got a new P50sa through the post last week and thought I'd give my initial thoughts. (I've bought a lot of NVA stuff recently, and try to report back on it all at some point when I've got used to it) I really like the case size. I knew it would be the same size as my Phono 3 and the power supply box...
