Re: Looking to get a P50mk II with S80 Stereo

Come on quit the speaker compatibility bollocks. I've got a 'S80' driving 86dB bookshelf speakers in a smallish room and they go loud. It all really depends on room size and what volumes you like listening at. Efficient speaker or very powerful amp may be needed in a large space listening to Heavy M...

Re: Covid "jab" and Nhs.

Had mine in Feb (AZ). I was fine after the vaccine but felt flue like symptoms and extremely tired following day. Took some paracetamol and lay on the bed for an afternoon. Felt fine by the day after. It's in line with side affects described in the leaflet they give you. Looks like this is very comm...

Re: What to do with my fruitbox

Are we talking old Rega here or the new ones? The old ones I found pretty uninspiring but competent. New models i've heard p3 / p6 sound a whole lot better. Don't have that 'Rega sound' all of them had previously. Just need to be careful with sighting still. I would suggest Michell or Notts Analogue...

Re: What to do with my fruitbox

Do all the mods and then put up for sale. Would only consider keeping the arm if you have a suitable deck to get the best from it. Would probably be cautious about the spring removal if selling as Linn fanboys prefer the bouncy temperamental suspension. They tell me current decks don't need regular ...

Re: Why no analogue to digital talk

There is quite a bit of interest in Philips CD players based on 1541A DAC. You will be surprised how good these sound. In hi-fi and absolute terms not as good as say an ESS sabre DAC. I can do the comparison and a modest Marantz CD65SE II is very musical in comparison to a CXC through Sabre DAC (in ...

Re: Brexit Deal - one of the easiest in human history?

Bonkers Boris kept the whole world guessing until the last minute if he would or wouldn't pull his No Deal stunt. Meaning that nobody could sort any terms out for things like status, work permits, visas, whatever beforehand because the exit rules were simply not known. Things like residency, work a...

Re: Brexit Deal - one of the easiest in human history?

2points. Firstly due to Covid nobody is touring any time soon. Secondly bands from other countries outside the EU (USA) have not had any problems in organising European tours. I also must point out that before we joined the EU - common market as was then - there were few difficulties in visiting Eur...

Re: Coronavirus restrictions: are they legal

Restrictions are legal but they haven't been applied. We rely on persuading people and being nice to them. Quite a few I believe should have been put behind bars for protection of the majority.

Re: "Freedom" of speech

In the case of Trump I think his comments come under breaking the Law as he was engaged in incitement. I'm sure he would have been banned long before if he hadn't been the President. If anything twitter and social media have been guilty of ignoring activity that contradicts the law. You can say all ...
