Hi
I have just discovered a JVC Z1s cartridge in my spares. Can't remember where I got it but it has no needle. I have just got a Hitachi HT 350 with a slightly dodgy cartridge and was wondering if it would be worthwhile getting a new stylus for the JVC.
Any comments would be appreciated.
Cheers

Re: cartridge recognition
Hi I did some digging online and it does seem that the antiskate would not affect the system in that way.I did have another deck and it did not have this problem so I will investigate the cartridge a bit more. Maybe test the resistances on each side but I will also try to get some info on a replacem...

Re: cartridge recognition
H again Have set up my new deck and sounds quite good but there seems to be a bias in the soundstage with one speaker slightly louder. It's not much but just noticeable. The cartridge is the original, I think, so is 30 years old at least is there anything else I should check before getting a new car...

Re: cartridge recognition
Hi Thanks for the replies. Jammy I know it's a tall order but there are loads of knowledgeable people on this forum and I was just trying my luck. I will try to put in a couple of photos but I haven't tried that before so may end up badly. I will also investigate the VN 870 and the VFS 261 cartridge...

cartridge recognition
Hi All Just bought an old Hitachi HT 350 to try out DD, one channel was dead so I checked out the cartridge and one of the leads came off. Needless to say in my attempts to solder the lead on I bust up more leads and I will have to sort it all out. Anyway I was wondering if anyone could help me reco...

Name that TT
Hi all Was watching tv last night , something I try to avoid, and saw part of a program on the history of albums. Saw three turntables and wondered if anyone new their names. The three TT,s I saw were with Rick Wakeman, Alan Parsons and Noel Gallagher. No serious reason for this enquiry just trying ...

Re: Dazed and Confused
Got a Hitachi HT-350. A reasonably cheap DD which should be able to give a comparison with my belt drive decks, maybe not "dead scientific "but interesting none the less.
Are there any fettling tips for when I get it .
Thanks all

Re: Dazed and Confused
When I was looking at retail outlets for second hand I could only get anything reasonable round the £200 mark. On ebay I think you are taking a bit of a chance, but that's life. I think it would be interesting to try out a DD turntable so up to the £200 limit seems reasonable. As you say there is no...

Re: Last Live Listen
Hi from sunny Scotland Actually I am on the computer as we are having gales, snow, rain, sleet etc at the moment. My last live concert was Chris Izzak (I think that's the right spelling) at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. Dragged there by the wife but it was a great show. He seemed glad to be there unlike...
