Re: BBBMU
Yup, balanced mains is very, erm, mains dependent. I used balanced mains for well over a year, it hummed periodically through the day & sang with the fridge. I've taken it out, and things just sound better, the noise floor actually dropped with it out. I didn't experiment with using a DC blocker...

http://www.dddac.com/dddac1794.html (Link from SpaceJay, ta) Interesting stuff here. They are talking about sound improvements derive from parallelling DAC chips. Not everyone likes paralleling DAC chips, case in principle the original DDDAC with the 'tower' of TDA1543 vs. Peter Daniel's one chip c...

Re: Razors and shaving products
After years of losing attachments, I now have a Remington electric beard trimmer that has an adjusting wheel for different cut sizes. Recommended for this who don't close shave! I look like a 'lesbian' with no facial hair.

Re: What speakers have you owned ?
There are advocates of the RR series but people it seems don't realise they were the sign of Joe compromising. The process of driver doping and matching was expensive and time consuming and only he knew how to do it. The RRs and the tie up with JPW was to get an easier life and make some money for ...

Re: The Linn Kan crossover wasn't as simple as some suggeste
7 bits is too much IMHO it has too much impact on transients and immediacy. One or two components for the tweeter & the same for the woofer. Maybe a couple of resistors, but not capacitors and inductors. This is my experience anyway very noticeable with the Minstrel's and Sorcerer's crossoverles...
