Re: Phono Amp advice please?
AJ - Just about everyone here is an owner of nva phono or wants one so you wont get a balanced opinion. Plus it would I think be impossible to find someone who had heard all of those. Anyway you take no risk, always buy on-line, if no likeee send back for full refund. Try is the answer to everythin...

Re: Phono Amp advice please?
Just a thought, why not try the NVA Phono 1 at £280.00 for starters and if you like the sound (which is probably a given) then upgrade to the Phono 2 a bit later? You should get 100% trade in on the Phono 1 against a shiny new Phono 2, and by that time you may have freed up enough cash to go top of...

Re: Is Prog a bunch of self indulgent nonsense
OK for what its worth I would say the defining moment for "Prog" was the release of King Crimsons - In the Court of the Crimson King. Whatever anyone thinks it is a great album with some very good music on it. A number of other bands took the concept of long musical rock compositions and e...

Re: Is owning a turntable worth it?
Having had a fully digital Meridian system for the past 10 years and enjoyed it greatly, I have recently purchased a Turntable. This was prompted as a friend was selling off his vinyl and he had some very nice ones from the 60's and 70's which I just could not resist at very good prices. Initially I...

Phono Amp advice please?
Hi, I have recently acquired the Project Xperience and the Cambridge Phono stage, I am enjoying it very much and its great listening to vinyl again. However I would appreciate some advise. At the moment that Phono is going through the Meridian Processor(and sound surprisingly good) but the immediate...

Vinyl to listen to.....
Hello all, I have been absent from here for a while but as I recently have returned to the Vinyl fold I thought I would let you know about this stunning recent find. Apologies if there has been previous post on this. Michael Kiwanuka - Love and Hate, a marvellous album and very well recorded,...

Re: Does the OS change the sound?
The probability of getting 2 machines architecturally identical and instal Max OS x on one and windows on the other to do comparisons is very low. Even with the same boards etc. installed there is a risk of chipset revisions and difference between them. You would have to request identical logic boar...

Re: PA50sa and A70
Try and pick up a Meridian 508, they sell for around £600 in good nick and are pretty reliable. Really open and detailed. Other option if your transport is good is Audiolab m-DAC, might be worth a home demo in your set up. Alternatively if you can push to it the revised Audiolab 8200CD, which also h...
