I have only just stumbled onto this news. Very glad to hear of some improvement. I wish him all the luck that he wished my wife when he heard she had a similar thing. My wife is slowly improving, the more we talk, the better she gets, but it can get you down at times. All power to your elbow Mrs Q.....

I agree with Zebbo,i use a rack out of necessity,not enough space to put gear anywhere else.The only time i had a hum problem was when it was full of Naim kit.Never had even a hint of hum since i swopped it all for NVA.

I put an old olive hicap on my CD5 and it did make life worth living,a vast difference,not sure an empty box (flatcap) can do a lot,sorry,still worth a try for the money i guess.Then i inherited a TT and sold the CDP and bought some more records...ha

My music collection spans every genre from Monteverdi to american prison work songs and most things in between ,but i wouldn't say i was intelligent,more, just open minded.I also live in a house full of books and pictures, no wonder my head is a bit cluttered....

I might just be a tad biased here,but i say get an AP70 with LS5. Plug it in and listen to them for ten years or so,thou' i might be swayed into some LS6 if my premium bonds ever pay out.

Mine are bleached like that,you don't see it thou' as i keep the grills on,which i see he has,plus ,as Neilardo says you can easily sell them if in the unlikely event that you don't get on with them...

That is perfectly normal,and is how he got round having a minimal crossover.I have owned two pairs and they both looked like that.They also don't seem to mind where you place them either...Jonty2547 wrote:the drivers look heavily "doped", is this normal or have they been fettled?
