Re: HFS at The WAM Show 2020

I won't be able to make it but you're welcome to borrow the big Sony CD player if someone can pick it up? Don't want to courier it as it's a heavy old lump and I don't have any original packaging, would be too risky.

Re: NVA Blog

Are you using serial numbers now?
No particular reason for the question I just thought it strange that they never had one.

Re: Boing

Seen these for sale before.... Not sure why anyone would want to add suspension to a Rega turntable. Essentially making it then have the same issues as an LP12 😆 Not necessarily. The problems with the Linn, (and others), is that the springs are in compression which is inherently unstable with soft ...

I am very tempted by the thought of biamping my Cubix, I will probably have a go at it much later this year
Hmm, that could be interesting!
The Cubix are basically the Cubix-Pro without the in-built amplification yes?
Do you have two or three sections?

Re: Biamping

I bi-amped my Cube 1's but noticed very little improvement. The cost to improvement ratio was not good in my opinion.
I would imagine the biggest gains might be with speakers employing a dedicated midrange driver? Just a guess.

Re: Band names- what do they say

Peter and the test tube babies.
A mate at college, (many years ago), was always banging on about them. He used to go to gigs and tell us all what a great time they'd had gobbing huge greenies at the band and throwing beer bottles - wonderful, NOT!
He's now an airline pilot!

What about something completely different. Eddi Reader, Angels and Electricity. The best this she's done in my view.

Or Elkie Books Live and learn - I think it beats anything else of hers I've heard into a cocked hat.
Love Eddi Reader - Angels is lovely and I like Vagabond too.

It must be time to revive Hotel California, haven't heard it at a Hi-Fi gig for ages!!
But seriously - Joe Jackson - Another World? Chinatown?
Mary Coughlan - I'd rather go blind - amazingly powerful voice.

(sorry that was meant to be edit not quote!)
