Re: Do you remember...

So sad I try to look for and support the non corporate companies, this is similar in cycling, a non hifi brand that also has similar issues with the biggies www.airdropbikes.com Not my style of bike (I like old steel!) but lovely to read about the company. I hope that they continue to thrive. Simil...

Re: Witnessed a fatfuck sweating it over a Bryan Adams lp.....

It's all about the face. If you are genetically good looking. Society treats you nicely! Sad, but it's brutal truth. S. Too true - I seem to remember seeing some research about job interviews. Apparently, within a couple of seconds of entering the room a candidate will have been assessed for suitab...

Let's assume you take care of isolation with the placing of the tt. Then all it needs do is to turn at 33.3 with no bearing interference.
Well done, good to see that you have added some quite important caveats to your original statement.

Cheers Joe

Quite a bit of research there which just goes to highlight my limited experience

By the way Daniel, your "finite" objectivist conclusion regarding the only thing that a record player has to do is rotate at 33.3 rpm; care to justify?

Re: What should I do with my old LP12?

I object to the use of "fettled" for fiddling around with a record player as I had a mate who worked as a fettler - grinding rough edges off castings (quite a risky job as the grinding wheel could shatter if old/not used carefully. Bits of broken wheel flying around was quite a hazard. I know that l...

Re: What should I do with my old LP12?

I had a Rega 2 (old style, wood surround, S shape arm - still have it in a cupboard) and replaced it with the LP12/Basik plus arm - kept the ADC XLM mk2 and the LP12 sounded far better to me, so no problem with Dave's "eating it for breakfast" comment. To say that all a deck has to do is rotate at 3...

sounds like the right response Savvy - no point trying to sue someone who has nothing.
