Cheers Jammmy!
Only considering the idea for holidays by the pool (although, I admit part of the fun of getting home is settling down to listen to some vinyl).
All the best. Guy.

Re: transfer of vinyl to 'phone/ipod
You need an audio card with analog RCA inputs. Just plug in the phono stage, get some audio recording software, and voilla. :D As said with some software http://audacity.sourceforge.net I recorded about 20 albums, must have been 12 years ago now but it was a painful, slow experience and in the end ...

transfer of vinyl to 'phone/ipod
Dear all, Any advice on how to transfer vinyl tracks to 'phone/ipod/small digital device? I dont like what the compressed infomation on ipods/mp3 players does to music (I freely admit that I may well be out of date here). How would I best be served in trying to convert music to a portable device? I ...

Re: New Phone with wi-fi
All that I can sensibly add to this is that I find the "swipe" keyboard very easy to use - never used to send texts with the old multicharacter keys on my old 'phone. I would be very interested in any comments on transfering vinyl to a smart 'phone/ Mp3 (or whatever player though) - will s...

Re: headphones and sods law
Sennheiser pads arrived yesterday. A bit of a tight fit, but more comfortable - finer textured foam? Definately recommended. Thanks for the link Wallace. What a site, I hadn't realised that there would be a headphone dedicated forum. Interesting to see all the modifications which people have tried w...

I seem to remember Bob Monkhouse saying:

Re: headphones and sods law
Hi Guy, I have a pair of Grado SR225's and, like you, found them a bit uncomfortable with the OEM earpads (the round hollowed out black ones) These Sennheiser replacements http://www.custom-cable.co.uk/sennheiser-hd414-hd414x-hd414cl-earpads-yellow.html are a big improvement, and fit perfectly. HTH ...

Re: For lovers of the Piano
I remember this being performed in a school assembly when I was a 5th year (year 10 for our younger members :character-oldtimer: ). I think that the sixth former who was at the piano did a far more convincing job. The most interesting part was watching the rest of the pupils and staff becoming more ...

Re: headphones and sods law
Whoop whoop! Headphones arrived this morning. I can now sit in the living room oblivious to the great British bake off, stitch up,child birth or whatever else passes for entertainment when my nearest and dearest have control of the remote. Thanks, Shane - headphones in excellent condition, obviously...
