Re: Jerry's ongoing system blog
If you assume your mains is perfect, I bet you are wrong! Hmm, point taken. No I don't assume my mains is perfect - I would be daft to do so since there's so muc more other stuff inside and outside the house that will affect it. My only real experience is that 10mm cooker cable spurs seemed to soun...

Re: Now, where was I...
Thanks. I had the mistaken idea that error correction was applied nearer the d to A process. I'm now thinking the SPDIF is what we used to call co-axial ethernet . This is reinforced by the male coax connection on my Exposure CD player. These were a very different thing to UTP or STP. As I've found ...

Now I have a similar opportunity and I'm considering doing the same or maybe using armoured cable (as I think applemarc ha...

Re: Your last listen
When I came home tonight, I was greeted by the sound of Classical Gas from upstairs. "Blimey," thought I, "My son must've been putting in some serious shed time." But it turned out he'd hit upon Tommy Emmanuel on YouTube and was pumping it through his iPod dock. Just goes to show...

Re: Now, where was I...
I think you are missing the upgrade opportunities here. Surely we can have Higgs Boson EC Grey, Red, Yellow, White, Black, Blue and Purple at different price points, all of which would be backwards compatible but capable of better performance if used with some boson-improved active equipment before ...
