It's produced by Bad Wolf and New Line Cinema for BBC One and HBO and rumours are that it's the most expensive drama of its kind ever commissioned by the BBC. Series 2 is already in production.

I, for one, am looking forward to it very much.
Good heads-up there Slinger. Got that programmed to record.

Also looking forward to it - always been a bit disappointed that there was no follow up to the "Golden compass" film.

Iorek Byrnison looks very similar in both the film and the new series (have they used the same props/images?), or is it just that a bear with armour will look pretty similar regardless of production

Lexx used to amuse me - mind you I only ever caught it late at night when I got home from the pub.

Also what about the original "lost in space" - Dr Smith was brilliant.

yes - robot was cool. Just looked up the name : Class M3 Model B9 General Utility Non-Theorizing Environmental Control Robot.

So where did I get the idea it was called "Robbo" or something similar?

Me too, and as a bonus Ruth Wilson is in it.
