American Nightmare S/T 2017
Recorded mostly live I think to 2inch tape with the vinyl having a pretty good master to my ears make for a great 20 minutes.

The 2018 expanded double pressing of Poison Idea's Feel the Darkness is pretty great.

Anything recorded by Dennis Preston for the Lansdowne series of Jazz albums in the 60s (all on the Columbia label). Even the recent represses from the original tapes are excellent. Try 'Dusk Fire' by the Rendell Carr Quintet for starters, but so much to choose from. In fact, most British Jazz from this period is well captured.
A couple of 90s albums that I particularly like are Eg & Alice's '24 Years of Hunger' (think Steely Dan / Deacon Blue), and a great live album by Pat Metheny Group - 'The Road to You'. Neither are 'audiophile', but both honestly capture great performances/songs.

I love the Cures music but I have yet to find a vinyl recording that's a good recording, please note I am not saying their bad recordings simply not something to demo or test your system on

if I may.. I'd like to put the album Turn On The Bright Lights by Interpol... moody art rock type fopps.....his voice sometimes reminds me of Joy Division (in a good way). Lots of British influences mixed with that New York poser style. nice album
