Re: DACs
DacMagic Plus and Powergorilla is a great little combo. I did have to get a lead made to use between them but so far it's certainly been worth doing. I thought the Dac was good with the wallwart and more enjoyable than the Audiolab 8200CD. The battery just really brings more depth and clarity the tu...

Re: DACs
I'll do an update as soon as I can. That's kinda what I'm thinking; the battery should be an improvement on the wall wart but I'm under no illusion that moving to an LPSU wouldn't bring further benefits that you've found with the Pi. I use a little Cubox I4pro instead of a Pi and wondered if that wo...

Re: DACs
Did either of you ever try a battery vs. lpsu?
As a interim to avoid using the wall wart I've got one of these on the way to try
https://www.powertraveller.com/en/shop/ ... ergorilla/
At £54 delivered and not the £160 I thought it might be worth a try.

Re: DACs
Cheers both of you. Looking forward to trying it. I took the leap and sold the Audiolab 8200CD which I have been using, once or twice was near to getting a Meridian Director and doing the PSU thing or a Chord Mojo. But as Richer Sounds were doing re-packs at a good price it was just too tempting alt...

Re: DACs
For the technically-minded here is a picture of the SBooster's internals - maybe the techies will want to compare this to the Lurcher model. The first thing I noticed when I collected it from the shop was the weight of the thing (still in the box) - that is one heavy transformer in there ! h...

Re: Interconnect or Speaker cable
Ideally at the moment something not more than £500. I'm not going to be streaming DSD it'll just be for FLAC files from my NAS via the Cubox with Volumio. Always happy to go pre-owned and I'd not thought about the Cambridge. The form factor of the Mojo appeals and I had thought about getting a Linea...

Re: Interconnect or Speaker cable
The SSP MK2 has replaced a £450 per metre Van Den Hul i/c in my system. The first thing I thought was the SSP mk2 was the way to go after trying the SSC and that was before the change to the P50SA and NuForce. I am going to need a new DAC though too as just sold the Audiolab I was using current thi...

Re: Interconnect or Speaker cable
Cheers Richard. I was too late to putting dibs on the SSP1 in the classifieds I think. I'lve got your Mk2 SSP in my eBay watch list so I'll try those as soon as I can.
Thanks

Interconnect or Speaker cable
Right o, I've currently got LS5 and a P50SA. From LS2 to 3 to 5 has bought wowzer I wasn't expecting that increase in my enjoyment. Should I now consider LS6 or bag some SSP? I tried SSC between my Sony 670ES and Audiolab 8200CD but compared to the Van Damme IC was using they didn't float my boat. N...

Re: Your last listen
That looks like a nice Technics there Nihil. 8-) Cheers, I bought fully recon'd, serviced and sprayed one for around new Rega money a few years ago. Only mods up until the tonearm swap to Audiomods Services V were the original arm re-wired and checked out by Johnny @Audio Origami and bearing modded...
